Finding the ideal industrial partner for plastic marking means relying on an expert who can limit the complexity of your supplies while guaranteeing consistent quality.
Moving from a single prototype to mass production without loss of clarity or durability is a critical challenge. We have made this scaling up our core expertise.
Our business is to optimize production flows to guarantee perfect repeatability on batches of several thousand parts, while integrating unique traceability information on each unit (increment, QR codes, machine identification).
Two-layer engraving: choose the engraving material best suited to your environment
| Material family | Main Use | Key Resistors | Typical Temperature | Marking Technique |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bi-layer ABS (Standard type Gravoply) | Standard Interior – Electrical marking, machine identification | Base (Not recommended for use with aggressive solvents) | -40 ° C / + 80 ° C | Laser Mechanics |
| Modified Acrylic (UV Stable) | Exterior – Illuminated areas, durable signage | UV & Weather Resistant – High Light Stability | Up to ~80–90°C | Laser (Ideal) Mechanics |
| Reinforced two-layer (Heavy Duty) | Contact areas – Friction, handling, cleaning | Abrasion/Scratches – Hardened Surface Cap | Varies depending on the range | Laser Mechanics |
| Laminate / Melamine (Gravostrat type) | Chemical Environment – Labs, heavy industry, safety | Acids & Solvents – Chemistry and Heavy Abrasion | Very high resistance | Mechanical (Recommended) Laser (depending on range) |
Comparison of our engraving techniques
| Engraving Method | Target Material | Benefit | Disadvantage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Laser Engraving (Removal of the top layer) | Ideal for : • Bi-layer ABS • Modified Acrylic (UV) Prohibited on: | Speed & Variable Data: Enables ultra-fast engraving of fine text, QR codes and increments. Contactless and clean process (no chips). | Limited depth: The marking is clear but shallow (ablation of a few microns). Less "tactile" than mechanical marking. |
| Mechanical Engraving (Strawberry / Tip) | Recommended for: • Laminate / Melamine (Gravostrat) • Reinforced double layer • PVC (if engraving is required) | Extreme Robustness: The only technique capable of deeply drilling into hard materials (laminates). Essential for aggressive chemical environments or for enabling paint filling. | Cadence: Physical machining processes are generally longer than laser machining, which can impact the cost on very large production runs. |
Industrialization of your production runs and variable data management
Choosing a mass production model optimized for customizing your double-layer plates ensures fast execution while allowing a significant reduction in unit cost.
We have made industrial customization the core of our expertise. Starting from standard formats (full sheets), we cut and engrave each piece to make it unique and conform to your plans.
Our industrial process:
- Files accepted : our graphic designers work directly from your vector files (DXF, AI, PDF) for cutting and engraving.
- Variable data For numbered series, integration is automated via your Excel files (serial numbers, text lists, QR Code/DataMatrix generation). This eliminates the risk of data entry errors.
- Quality Control : verification of readability and dimensional conformity before shipment.
- Integrated fixings : we deliver your plates ready to install: high performance industrial adhesive (type 3M), holes for rivets or screws, or specific cutouts for clamps.
